The Trommel was Created 2010
2009 – The Trommel was born. Abigroup first came to SEE Civil requiring a process plant to produce a minimum of 1200 tonnes per hour, that needed to receive 100 tonne dump trucks, and a total quantity of 3.8 million tonnes would be required in an eight month timeframe. SEE Civil’s owner and director Brian Turner created the Trommel . “It was designed to process 1200 tonnes per hour, but we have achieved output of up to 2000 tonnes an hour, which is remarkable,” said SEE Civil director Brian Turner, the brains behind the mega trommel.
Today the Trommel has been awakened and has been modified and upgraded. The original trommel was driven by a diesel hydraulic engine but this has been upgraded to an electric hydraulic engine which allows the trommel to be run on mains power or even a generator. SEE Civil have built an oversize rock conveyor which can manufacture big rock from 2-4 tonnes that can be conveyed into a jaw or cone crusher.
The result is SEE Civil now has the only mobile trommel of its size and capability and is ready for deployment.
