Curtis Island GLNG Temporary Workers Accommodation Facility

Description of Works –

  • 1600 person temporary accommodation facility for LNG associated works
  • Construction of all in ground sewer, water, fire and stormwater works including three on site pump stations.
  • Installation of electrical and communications services conduit and pits
  • Bulk and detailed earthworks, rock and concrete lined swales
  • Pavement construction including management of asphalt subcontractor


This project is required to meet Bechtel and SEE Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS/NZS 4802

Special Features –

  • Coordination of works with numerous other subcontractors including builders, electricians and plumbers
  • Stringent environmental controls associated with the works which were carried out within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park
  • Management of all logistics associated with barging of   materials from Gladstone to Curtis Island, including all haulage of quarry products
  • Design and construct portions of work for electrical, sewer and stormwater
  • Early contractor involvement focussing on the most time and cost efficient construction methods for these remote works
